Bought an LG DLGX5681 (white) at Lowes on 7/7/14 and on 3/1/15 it just stopped spinning. Only washing maybe 6-8 lbs of wet white clothes straight from the LG washer, which seems to do well. I got one revolution after I turned it on and off and manually changed the load from medium to load, but only one spin before it cut out again. Do NOT buy LG. I read the consumer reports. I purchased based on their recommendations. Dont buy consumer reports. I think theyre being paid.

All of our appliances and most of our TVs are LG products. They will all be replaced with another brand when the time comes. The Linear Compressor in the french door refrigerators are known defects. Good news is that a class action lawsuit was filed against LG. I had mine diagnosed by a local repairman. He says he sees at least (2) of them every week and sometimes several more. Unfortunately, he was not an LG contractor so he could not get the compressor directly. I would have to contact LG and get authorization letter he can use to order the part and I would have to pay him for labor on installation. I didnt want to have to deal with LG (customer service sucks!!). I called their helpline and explained that I needed someone to replace the compressor that was covered under parts warranty. They said I would have to pay another diagnostic fee. The the tech could schedule the repair. A 2500 refrigerator that lasted (5) years and now I am paying to have it fixed. The Kenmore in my garage is over 20 years old and I have never had an issue with it. Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice, shame on me. I will not buy an LG appliance again. Hopefully the lawsuit will yield something.

They said $60+ each for replacements - there are 5 knobs. We decided to live with it until we could find something quality and less expensive, which we havent. Now the chrome-colored wrap is peeling off to reveal a plastic knob...and the High-Medium-Low is on the wrap! The range has otherwise been fine, but cheap knobs will cause us to seek another range.

I was able to get LG to replace the compressor, since it was still under its 10 year warranty although the repair cost me about $250 on labor cost. Now on February 2020 the second compressor when also bad. It is my conclusion that LGs linear inverter compressors are complete garbage and LG shall issue a recall and replace them or issue refunds to all customers with this problem.

This washer has been loud from day 1 and started leaking about 4 months later. As others have said it unbalances and gives error codes often. I had it repaired once because it stopped draining. A technician visit and parts cost $400 -- that is when I learned that you actually have to drain it yourself. Who designs such a washer in this day and age? Now brown liquid is coming out of the back of the machine and my clothes and sheets smell like sewer after they have been through a complete cycle. I leave the door and soap compartment open between uses. What a waste of money - horrible product. DO NOT BUY LG. I will replace this POS as soon as I can afford.

A repairman charged me $80 to tell me that the bearings were going and, OF COURSE, that particular problem was not covered under the warranty (whatever the hell is), and that the repair would cost more than $500.My husband and I are both a little shy of 70 years young and do just a few loads a week. Also, we have used numerous AMERICAN-made washers in our lives that never broke down but just were replaced due to age. This expensive LG was a treat for my retirement; my husband wanted me to have the BEST. Well, as it turned out, we bought the BEST of the Asian junk market or wherever this jewel was conceived - LG has taken care not to provide that information. It has been hauled away today and been replaced by an ALL AMERICAN-MADE MAYTAG top loader. The downside of this is that LG screwed us out of $800. (I could have had my laundry sent out for that amount.) But the upside is that, hopefully, LG will continue to put out junk and screw itself out of the market with the rest of the junk producers. It is refreshing to know that the MAYTAG IS ONCE AGAIN COMPLETELY MADE IN AMERICA, BY AMERICANS - WITH COPPER WIRING AND NO ALUMINUM JUNK . Go for it, LG. I can only hope that you will continue digging your own grave.

Purchased LG Model LFXS29626B because of good reviews and it had features we desired like 2 ice makers. Worked fine for 3 years then stopped without any signs of problems. Research discovered common failures of the compressors in these LG refrigerators. Contacted LG by phone and using Smart Diagnosis was informed by the technician that the compressor had failed. My worse fear with no extended warranty. LG offered to repair my unit without cost to me. It was repaired the same day, in short time as the repairman came with required parts on hand. I applaud LG for owning this problem, but feel cautious wondering if the new compressor will fail after a short time period. We hope not because up to this point, it has served us well and we like the looks, and features. Previous refrigerator was a Kenmore, which lasted 16 years and cost one fourth of the LG.

I called a local repairman to come see about the washer. He told me he could not help me because LG is a brand name out of Korea and its very hard to order parts for these type of machines. I removed them and found lots of black slimy stuff built up. It was really gross. I cleaned them as best of could, but we probably need to get rid of this washing machine as it ruins so much clothes. Then it went out when it was only two years old and wouldnt cool the food. The issue was the compressor, which had a 10-year warranty on it. They put a new one in, but the new one wouldnt work. It took a long time for them to get back in touch with me. They told us that they would send someone over to the property and they would try and fix the fridge, three different times. After the third time, they said they wanted the tech to try some other things and made the tech come back at least two more times. All of it was dragged out. Each time, it took a whole week before they even got over to the property.We had tenants in the property and it took LG a month and a half to finally tell us they couldnt fix it. They gave us a new fridge but by that time, the renters had moved out because they had no fridge. It was a disaster. Plus, they wouldnt give us money for the tenants food loss. They said I either get a fridge or get the loss of food. They wont do both.

I have been doing laundry for 30 years and there really is nothing I like about this set. First and foremost, neither the washer nor dryer let you choose your settings. They have categories and it is what it is. Unfortunately they are terrible and dont work, e.g., nothing between normal and delicate. Does not get stains out unless you use 2 1/2 hour cycle with soak. Cant understand that one. Dryer same problem with settings. More dry is really almost dry. I gave it a year and still is the worst purchase I have ever made.

They would hang up, not call back after I gave them the phone number. Really crazy customer service. First question was what is your phone number, then start to tell them what was wrong with codes would get disconnected but they didnt call back. Within a year, broke again and after that service call within days, the compressor is humming very loud and looks like everything is defrosting in freezer. Of course this is on 4th of July so food will be eaten or lost. Very disappointed in product that cost over 3K. Wait the weekend to see what is wrong and before one year warranty over on July 20th.

I want to follow-up with how LG went above-and-beyond to help in my range repair. As I mentioned previously, my range went out just shy of having it four years. The thermostat stopped working causing the range to shut down. LG was gracious enough to cover the cost of the repair! I updated my star rating for LG from one to five stars because they were there and made good on a bad occurrence. Ill be buying more LG appliances in the future knowing how they stand behind their product. Thank you LG.

You barely touch them and they do this. This is very dangerous. I have come home 3 times in the last year with my house filled with gas. My elderly mother took a pan off the stove to wash it and then went to the living room not noticing the smell. I came home and nearly passed out when I walked to the kitchen. I see that there are many reviews with this same issue. I have called LG and they keep trying to send a technician. I have explained its not a technical issue. Is a very poor design. They will have their safety team call me within 24 hours. I think something needs done about this. People are or probably already have been killed. They certainly have to be aware of this with all the reviews I have read. Next step is to go to the News and do a demonstration so people will be aware and not purchase from this company. Like I said it has happened 3 times in my home and its dangerous. Please do not buy LG gas ranges.

After reading other peoples experiences here I now know that I have wasted a big amount of my money as I have had the same experience with Lg customer service. Long waits on the phone, no type of care or concern about having a customer fridge less for a month now, even after I told them we have a son whos medication must be refrigerated. No compensation offered whatsoever. None given when requested either. Their customer service line is horrible. They do not care about their customers at all.I have never reviewed any product because I have never had the need to do so. Everything always works just as promised. We had our previous fridge 12 years without a single repair made to it (kenmore) only replaced to this LG because kitchen was remodeled and wanted a new look. BIG MISTAKE - we made with our choice. Do NOT waste your money. LG products are NO good. Stay away.

Could not call for any help until Tuesday July 5, technician came out on July 7 to tell me my French doors refrigerator had a seal system problem was under warranty and he was not an LG-certified technician. By the way while checking out the refrigerator he did tell me the LG is one of the worst refrigerators, all plastic and lots of mechanical problems, that is why he would not become an authorized LG technician.Called LG, got someone I could not even understand, finally got a certified technician phone number called and he comes tomorrow, he will probably need to order parts so thats more to time. Customer service stinks as well as the refrigerator. I will never ever buy an LG item again. I did lose all my food, around 250.00 and the company acted like I was out of my mind for asking. The supervisor said our warranty ran out after 12 months. I advised her that the problem that caused my problem was under warranty and she flat out said, We do not reimburse. I hate them.

To improve the situation, I should go to the dryer when it happens, open the door, pull out and shake out the sheet, put it back in and begin drying again. Within a very few minutes, the sheet becomes a tube again! Do not buy an LG dryer!

We bought our LG Smart Inverter fridge last year. When we were shopping, we were looking for a spacious freezer and of all fridge weve seen, its layout stood out. The height and the depth (the z-axis) is greater than others. We could stuff a lot of meat, ice cream, ice inside and since last year, we have never filled it up to its full capacity even though weve hosted large parties in our house. It also have compartments inside that are intuitively placed, not just placed there for the heck of it. My favorite is the chiller, its spacious and it can semi-freeze meat, hotdogs, chorizo, making it still fresh.We have not had any problems with the fridge. Hope we dont have to use its 10-year warranty. The only downsides with the fridge is that the egg tray can only accommodate 8 eggs and even though the doors are closed, somehow, insects are able to creep inside. I dont know how they can get inside to both the freezer and the lower compartment. I constantly remove dead insects inside. So far, fridge is performing as expected.

The temperature dropped significantly and the freezer no longer kept food frozen. I am again using a cooler, buying ice frequently. I contacted the LG customer service department this past Sunday July 21, 2019 to inform staff of a malfunctioning refrigerator and to complain that this was the second incident in three years. I was given an appointment for July 25, 2019. My husband took the day off of work in order to receive the repairman. After no one showed, my husband contacted LG customer service department and was informed that the appointment had been canceled. We did not cancel the appointment. LG customer service informed us after some time that A& E Factory Service, their contractor, canceled the appointment and did not inform LG nor did they inform us of the cancellation. Eventually my husband was given an appointment for August 5th 2019, two-weeks from the originally scheduled appointment. He explained the challenges in retaining food, money lost, and that we have a five year old daughter who had clumpy milk that had to be discarded... the next available appointment was moved to August 1, 2019. I phoned yesterday, July 25, 2019 explained the above and inquired about the earliest available appointment. After being on the phone for twenty minutes I was informed that the earliest possible appointment is still August 1, 2019 however it is not confirmed, therefore I do not have a concrete appointment as of yet. I was told that someone will call us to confirm the actual August 1, 2019 appointment next week. I am very disappointed. I am very dissatisfied. I will not purchase another LG refrigerator again.Jacqueline **

I called Sears for service because it was still under warranty, and that was where I bought it. They gave me an appointment eight days later. At that point, it was still working; I thought, “No big deal.” Then the refrigerator part quit being cold; so, I called back for a sooner appointment. Two days later, the repairman came, and said I needed a new electronic board. He said he would place the order, and the part would be dropped shipped to my home. When it arrives, Im supposed to call them. This is to schedule for them to put it in, and the first available date is in eight days! Who can go without a refrigerator for eight days? They said the warranty didnt cover the food loss. So, Im out a couple hundred dollars, and I am stuck with this lousy refrigerator that I cant stand.

We reported the issue to LG customer service and they offered an extended warranty for about $275.00. We purchased it and their repair representative arrived at our home. He verified that this was an LG product by model and serial number, and confirmed that the stove/oven was produced in 2013. He then said that he didnt have the required parts to perform the repair, and that LG no longer makes the parts. Since then, LG wont fix their own product because we dont have the initial purchase receipt. We have been arguing with so called LG executive services ever since. Ultimately, this is an LG product, LG took our money for the extended warranty, and they are incapable of fixing their own product. Is this fraud?

It makes no ice and the freezer temperature is up to 40 degrees even though it is set to 0 degrees. We have called the LG company several times but they keep repeating the same thing, Adjust the temperature. But we have adjusted the temperature several times but it does not help. We are seeing that others are complaining about a faulty compressor. I would not recommend this unit to anyone and please before buying any appliance check around and gather information to see what the best one is. I am really upset and I have lost all my meat and frozen food.

Called LG who sent me through some basic troubleshooting and gave me phone numbers to technicians that arent helpful. One sound sketchy (answers the phone Hello) and insisted I make an appointment thru a non-existent website or send an email to his Gmail. One said they wont service my town. One has yet to call me back. I called a reputable but non-LG-authorized repair service who said it would cost $1,200 for a new compressor and I would have to deal with LG myself (I think to buy the compressor). Given the reviews about back ordered parts, and lack of authorized techs, Im left to wonder how long I wait for the other technician to call me back, argue in vain with LG or just buy a new refrigerator. Very open to joining a class action lawsuit. I certainly dont make enough money to replace expensive items every two years. Reading up on refrigerators, old fashioned top freezer refrigerators are a whole lot cheaper and fail less often.

An LG technician came in and told me he had bad news for me, he could not work in the unit due to Sulfur Contamination and his company advised him not to fix the unit. When I asked him, what could cause such contamination, he said it is because the Chinese Drywalls. Our refrigerator Model #LSXS26366D is in the list of defective linear compressors in the LG Class Action Lawsuit. Our previous refrigerator was plugged in the same area for 13 years and never had a problem. We moved the old refrigerator to the garage, and it is still working under heat and humidity in a Florida garage. Our Air condition company certified that all our lines are clean with no contamination. All the appliances in our house are working properly, including our LG Washer and Dryer.Today I called a specialized company in the Chinese drywall detection and they never heard of a refrigerator failing due to Chinese drywalls. This is not possible. Also, they mentioned that a Technician cant diagnose a contamination without testing the particles. I work in a power plant company in Florida and all the Engineers stated that the compressor is in a sealed environment with no co-relation to the outside elements. I have called the LG Customer Service multiple times requesting a written service call invoice as the Technician did not leave a written diagnose. LG refused to produce the document and the customer service rep hanged up on me.The second customer service told me to call a third-party repair company a pay out of my pocket. Today another rep offered 20% rebate on a new purchase. Again, the refrigerator is three years old and under warranty for five years under a Class Action Settlement for this Unit. There is no proof and no explanation on writing of the cause of failure. Yesterday we called again, and the customer service rep said that our refrigerator is irreparable. She transferred us to a Supervisor by the name Arthur, we request a diagnose on writing and he said not to be allowed to send emails and he will send a request a copy of the service call. Please help us to receive repair for our fridge under warranty. Thank you.

I rarely give bad reviews but my experience has not been so good dealing with LG. On 2016 I purchased a gas double oven range for $1,600.00 and also purchased a 5 year warranty with it. Well a few weeks ago my stove top kept shutting off on its own while I am using it and would make a sound as if it was about to explode to the point it shook my oven twice in the process while I was standing in front of it. It scared me, I called the Home Depot protection plan and explained to them what was happening. I filed a claim on August 6, 2020. They sent me an email stating that my service appointment has been accepted, I received a text on August 14, 2020 stating that the technician will be there between 9am/4:pm.The day that they were supposed to come we get a call from the company that was supposed to come out to fix it that they are not coming because they do not service our area and that I need to call the Home Depot protection plan back. I called them the same day and told them what I was told and they told me they would look into it and let me know once they find someone that can service my area. When they didn’t call me I decided to call, Almost two weeks went by nothing so I called again and they had the nerve to tell me that it’s showing that I canceled the job, which was a lie. I was not happy but I kept my cool and they finally found someone to service my area and told me that they would be there on August 25th, 2020 between 9am/5:pm.Once the technician arrived he looked at it and told me he had to order the part and I will get a call when they will come to replace the part. Two or three days after the technician came both of my oven stopped working so I called them and told them that and asked them if they were going to send someone out to look at it since it is a different issue, they told me no and that the parts that the technician is going to replace should fix the problem. Mind you they didn’t even know what the issue was, anyway On September 11, 2020 the technician came to replace the part, I told him, Well the oven is not working and I was told that the part you are about to replace should fix that issue.He replied, I am not quite sure if it will because I don’t know what the issue is but I will take a look at it after I install this part. Guess what? It did not fix the oven part of it so now he had to order another part. On September 18,2020 the technician came to replace the part for the oven, once he replaced it the oven was still not working, the technician told me the oven cannot be fix and that there is no parts to replace that he will go to his truck, call the office and let them know that so they can move on to the next step and he will let me know what they said. I waited inside my house and the technician never came back in. I noticed he left without letting me know what was said.I immediately called the company and they told me they will submit the report to home depot protection plan and let them know. I decided right after I got off the phone with them to call me Home Depot protection plan and let them know what I was told and they told me, Ok we will wait for them to submit it and it should take 24 to 72 hours for them to make a decision and get back to me. On September 22, 2020 I called Home Depot protection plan to find out the status. I explained the situation and I was transferred to a supervisor and I waited an hour on the phone before I finally reached a supervisor. I also explained the situation and he told me he would contact LG to escalate this for a buy out review and told me to look out for an email tomorrow.About two hours later I get a call telling us that a technician will be coming on September 23rd, 2020 to fix the oven. I was confused so I called Home Depot protection plan again to ask them what was going on and why were they sending the same company to fix something that they already deemed could not be fixed, they transferred me to a supervisor again and I waited another hour for a supervisor to come on the phone. The supervisor tells me that there was never a report sent to them stating that they could not fix the oven and that LG is sending a technician out to service my oven.It is going on almost two months going back and forth with Home Depot protection plan and LG and I am still with an oven that is not working and they have been bouncing me back and forth and I am been told something different every time I call. I operate a business from home that requires me to use my stove top and oven on the regular and not having a working oven has affected my business and my ability to cook for my 6 children and husband. This has been one of the worst experience, the range is only 4 years old. It was very expensive and it is a shame that it had gone bad in such a short time.Home Depot protection plan and LG are the absolute worst to deal with. It is unfair and very unprofessional what they are doing because when I purchase the protection plan I was told if they could not fix the product after they attempt to fix the problem they would replace the product or provide me with the money that I purchased it for to get another one. Now they are playing game and going around the bushes. I am very disappointed, unsatisfied and frustrated with both Home Depot protection plan and LG.

LG gaskets for French door model never sealed properly when I bought a few years ago. The gaskets would sometimes keep door from closing completely, but light and warning beeper would deactivate. Many times we would come back to refrigerator finding one door slightly ajar. LG help desk said to firmly close it and this was due to a tight, but normal fit. They were no help. Now, the top door gaskets have torn on both sides. LG said it has been over 1 year and I am s.o.l. They said there have not been any recalls and it has never been a problem. I went to appliance store and every make & model of refrigerators including LG had a new design of the gasket with a flap on top and bottom of gasket. LG said that my refrigerator gaskets can be replaced, but they are the original design. I contacted one of the certified LG repair service and they gave me a quote of $250 to replace gaskets.When I checked online, other owners of LG models like mine have had similar problems. I ordered both gaskets for $74 shipping included and installed them myself after viewing a YouTube demo. It was really easy and took about 15 minutes. Dont bother with LG customer service, it is a waste of time. LG does not mean Life is Good. It means Lucky Gold Star and you really need the luck for this appliance because quality & customer service has been deleted.

Our refrigerator went out about 3 weeks ago. We had one repair technician come out who said the compressor and motherboard needed to be replaced. He ordered the part and 4 days later came to do the repair. Upon disconnecting the compressor, he said there was something else wrong with the refrigerator as there was no Freon in the system. He indicated that either the evaporator was bad or there was a leak in the line. He said there should have been Freon in the system when he disconnected the compressor, but there was none. He indicated we needed to contact LG to have them send out one of their service technicians to complete the repair. That is when all the problems arose. LG issued a repair order and a new technician called us. When he learned that another technician had opened the refrigerator to change the compressor, he said he would not touch the refrigerator. We call LG back and requested the work order be directed back to the original technician at our request, but to our dismay, the technician said he did not have the equipment to do the repair. Since then we have been trying to get in touch with LGs executive services and they saying they will call us back if we get disconnected. Sure enough, when they attempt to connect us to their Executive Service group (about 2 or 3 times), we get disconnected and have not received a call back.We contacted several companies that LG has referred us to call and found one that said they would come out and evaluate the refrigerator, but we needed to get a work order from LG assigned specifically to them for them to come out and work on the refrigerator. We are still waiting on LG for that work order. What else can we do?

I took the day off, had the repairman look at the fridge (and I do mean LOOK AT it, as he didnt have the parts on hand), and was told it was the compressor that failed and the work would cost over $1000! The part was covered under our 5 yr warranty, but the work was about the cost of a new fridge and wasnt covered. So, the $200-300 part is covered but the $1000 work to install isnt? Gee, thanks, LG!After looking at what a new comparable one would cost, we couldnt find one and came to the disappointing decision to just go with the repair. The repairman was very nice and said this isnt the first hes seen and doubts itll be the last. So VERY disappointed in LG for making such a flimsy, unreliable product! I was a big fan of LG previously - having had a TV, Blu-ray disc player, etc. - and had NO problems, so I thought that competency would apply to all their products. Very wrong and very disappointed.

Recently, however, was the worst when I walked downstairs on Christmas night and heard dripping water and found it coming from the ceiling of the bedroom-right underneath the fridge. At midnight my grandchildren and I we were unloading food into our cheap garage fridge which we paid about $300 for and has never given us an ounce of trouble! This occurrence was another water line that goes to the ice dispenser. My LG is 5 years old and this is the second time this has happened. It has ruined my wood floors for the second time. I have to replace baseboard for the second time. I have to replace sheetrock for the second time. But this time I have to replace my beautiful cabinetry in my kitchen and that is almost impossible to match and will be a major expense.The first time the repairman came he told me LG uses cheap tubing that cracks over time (less than two years). He replaced one tube, but evidently not the other, hence the second major leak. The tubing cost around $12 to replace, less the house call for the repairman. Now can anyone tell me why LG cant put a piece of decent tubing on the back of the refrigerator in the first place. It would save so many people so much grief, so much money and so much time. Come on LG, cant you put out an appliance that would make people happy rather than cost them a fortune in house repair? For an extra $12? Really? You cant spare a $12 profit to make a decent appliance? Remember, Life is Good, until your LG refrigerator leaks through your wood floors and sheetrock - twice.

Wanted a dryer with a steam fresh option which this LG does have. Washer does not wear out clothes as previous Maytag unit. Regular repairs and quality of construction, very important to me. Unit still looks brand new after 4 years of use and not the first problem with units. I had nice shirts that were stained with grease. Previous unit did not remove those stains so used shirts for the lawn. Used the sanitary cycle on the LG washer with no change in detergents and stains were removed. I am assuming this is due to the LG heating up the water that dissolve the grease.

Now, it is 2012 and I have had to have this fridge fixed 3 times at my own cost which cost me over $100 each time. My repairman says the problem is with the drain plug, a problem which LG is fully aware of. The hole around it rusts and the paint chips peel and plug up the drain, which in turn causes water in the freezer and on the floor. The fridge goes warm and the cool air cant get there. I just redid my kitchen floor the same year that I bought the fridge and the leaks are starting to cause warps in the flooring. I am so angry with this company for being able to sell such a shabby product and not having to be held accountable. I will never buy another any LG product on the market.This company is a disgrace!

Updated on 06/24/2021: A lot has happened behind the scenes since I made the first post. LG stepped in and offered to set the situation right, so I gave them the opportunity to do so. As you will read here, not only did they fail to make things right, they ended up making it worse. I warn you now, it is not a short read. March 30-Must have gotten someone’s attention. An unidentified person (this is a trend) PMed me via Consumer Affairs (CA) and offered to address the situation. They asked for some info, including billing address for the original purchase. I gave info and waited.April 2- Offer to repair machine at their expense is forwarded to me through CA by an unidentified person. I agree to offer. Sometime after this point, LG orders 2 replacement parts, a new main control board and a display board. I am not sure why the control board was ordered, as it was obvious the display board was the problem. The display board is the problem on every one of these machines.April 6-I get a notification by text from a random number (never identified) informing me that I recently scheduled service for my machine to be performed on April 8. Only problem is, I didn’t schedule service. Someone from LG (never identified) took it upon themselves to schedule this service without consulting me as to whether this was an acceptable time. The text number this was sent from could not receive return calls or texts, and no contact information was available to reach out about this scheduled appointment.After some digging around on the LG site, I figured out that the service was indeed scheduled, and also found out at this time that the above-mentioned parts had been ordered (one part was on backorder) and shipped to the billing address I originally gave on CA. Only problem with this is that the machine is not at the billing address, therefore both the parts and the service tech were heading to the wrong address. If someone had contacted me when the appointment was made, I could have given the correct address. If some useable contact information was made available to me, or if anyone in this process so far had identified themselves, I could have shared the situation with the incorrect address. But none of those things had happened. I share this latest update with the unidentified PM contact on CA.April 7- A box arrives from LG. I open it to find a new control board. Not the display (the part that is actually broken) but the other random part. Turns out that the display board is on national backorder. Not surprising since the OEM display boards have a 100% failure rate. With every single unit of this model needing this part replaced, demand is clearly high.April 8-Tech Visit #1. The service technician calls me to tell me he is 10 minutes away. I then tell him that he is 10 minutes away from the wrong address. He finally gets to the machine (I was able to be there), swaps out the mainboard, figures out mainboard is not the problem. I knew this already. So did the tech before even doing the job. Once he determined the main board was not the problem, he swapped the original board back into the machine and left, planning to return when the display board arrived. Since the mainboard did not appear bad, he returned the new mainboard to LG. This would prove to be a regretful decision.April 13- New display board arrives. I contact service tech and he schedules the next day to come install it. April 14-Tech shows up for Visit #2 (the fact I am giving numerical designations to tech visits should tell you something) and installs display board. I am not at the house this time, or much of the remaining catastrophe would likely have been avoided. According to my wife, he swapped out the board, hit the power button to see it power up, packed up his stuff and left. He did no function check or system diagnosis whatsoever, just looked for the lights to power up. He also went into the LG service system and reported the repair job complete. It was not, and the fact that he did report it as such would create problems down the road.After tech leaves, wife loads machine and tries to run it. After about a minute, it shut down and gave an error code indicating no water flow. I get home and check water supply to make sure that we didn’t have that turned off. I will also mention at this time that I have degrees in both electronic and mechanical engineering, and have been working as a design engineer and troubleshooting technician for electro-mechanical systems over 30 years. So I was able to deduce that we had sufficient water flow, but the electric water valve in the machine was not turning on. I contacted the tech, and he informed me he would come by the next day and check it out.April 15- Tech comes back for Visit #3. During this visit I learned the tech was a refrigeration expert, and had limited experience with dishwashers. He was competent, just not that experienced with LG dishwashers. He figures out that he had plugged something together incorrectly. I am not clear whether this mistake was made during Visit #1 and the incorrect connection was made at the mainboard, or during Visit #2 and the incorrect connection was made at the display board. I suspect it was #1 and the problem was at the mainboard because one of the connectors he attached incorrectly was to the main water valve, thus the valve did not work, as I had identified. Wherever the problem, he swapped the connectors around, ran a diagnostic, declared it good, and left again. When we powered up the machine I could hear the water valve now working, but after about a minute, the same error code and shutdown occurred.April 15 Part 2-The tech comes back that night for Visit #4 (told you we needed numbering). I am there, and we spend quite a bit of time checking out the machine. I teach him a few things about how the systems operate, and using some of my electronic testing equipment we figure out that the system is not seeing a signal from the water flow sensor. Hoping sensor might be bad, the tech ordered a replacement sensor.April 20-Tech got part, and stops by for Visit #5. Flow sensor not the problem. He spends over 2 hours of troubleshooting, including 2 calls to the service center for technical support. They go through everything, including checking the wiring harness. Nothing bad with wiring, but the mainboard is not supplying power to the sensor. It was never admitted to me, but I will bet a month’s pay that when he incorrectly connected the plugs in Visit #1 or #2, the sensor power supply on the mainboard was damaged. If he had not already sent back the new mainboard (remember I said this would be a regretful decision?) he could have swapped in the new board and likely fixed the problem. But he didn’t have the parts, and he was eventually told by the Service Center to stop attempting repair and RMA the machine.April 21- An unidentified person contacted me by text to inform me that the Alternate Resolution claim was started. But I should be prepared for it to be denied because the computer system says that all parts are functional. Remember the tech incorrectly reporting the machine repaired after Visit #2? An explanation by myself containing actual factual information and logic did nothing to change the response.April 23- I receive a phone call from LG asking about how I rated the service I had received in early April. Because the tech had reported he completed the repair, the gentleman calling me had no idea the job was botched, and he wanted to know how I rated my service experience on my freshly-repaired and perfectly-operating LG dishwasher. I don’t think he was very fond of my answers.May 1- Received voice mail from someone at LG telling me I was to be offered a bit over $500 for my permanently broken $1k machine. It further instructed me to contact Shakiah M about payout. May 5-When I talk to Shakiah, I’m told the actual number offered is even less. After several back and forth discussions on both text message and email, I agree to accept the offer, as long as there is no legally-binding contract included. I am assured there is not.Side note: It’s bad enough that almost no one from LG ever identifies themselves, but I am even more amazed by the amount of correspondence throughout this process done by text message on a cell phone. Is this what we call professional corporate behavior in 2021? Text messages? What are we, high-schoolers? May 28- Finally get a written offer. And that assurance there is no legally-binding component to the offer? Not true. I must waive off all rights to pursue further action if I accept this offer.Let’s recap: I started this process with a top-shelf machine with a single defective part. A $200 replacement part and 15 minutes of effort to install this part would have fixed my machine. But thanks to the mistake made by the service tech, I now have a junk machine. And what is the offer from LG after three months of hassle to fix all of this? Half what it will cost to replace it. Now I have a choice. LG is so in breach of contract here (not the warranty, BTW) that I will almost assuredly win in court. But small claims court is a hassle. I have tried to give LG the opportunity to make this right, and they continue to fail me, and will no longer even respond to me.30 day deadline to accept offer is June 27, three days from now. If LG really wants to make this right, then they need to do something better than half replacement cost for a machine THEY BROKE. If not, looks like I will see them in court. And I won’t be suing for just the cost of the machine. Punitive damages will be added on as well, and I have high confidence in my case and my ability to present it. I have been an expert witness in court proceedings several times, so court does not faze me. I don’t want the hassle of it, but I won’t be treated as a pushover either. We used it in our rental home for about 8-10 months before removing it from service and putting it in storage. It never got installed in the house, so after sitting for 2 years, we pulled it out of storage and put it in another rental property where it has worked flawlessly for 5 months. Now after a total service life of 13-15 months, we walk in the kitchen one day to find it dead. Wont power up, wont light up, wont reset. Looking at a few videos, I picked up a line filter. Not the problem. In fact, once I had it apart to change the line filter, I could see the red LED lighting on the board. So clearly it has power. Then after some more research, I find the web full of similar complaints. The number of purchasers with failures occurring, conveniently almost immediately after the end of their one-year warranty, is simply staggering. The Amazon listing for this dishwasher has 100% 1-Star ratings. Let that sink in. 100% 1-star ratings, I have never seen that on ANYTHING in my life. And especially not on an item that costs $1000. This design clearly has a significant design flaw somewhere. The number of instances of identical failure occurring within a span of 12-16 months of service life is not a coincidence, and this statement is coming from a highly-experienced engineer with 3 decades of experience in design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems. I know better than to believe that any manufacturer can take products to market and NEVER make a mistake in the design cycle. But what that manufacturer chooses to do about it when mistakes happen is what defines a company. This machine has a major design flaw, LG knows it, and apparently has chosen to do nothing about it. And I guess they have a right to not do anything about it. Well, I have a right to do something about it as well. If LG continues to leave customers like myself that spent quite a bit of money on a clearly defective product, then it will be the last of my money LG will ever see. And I will go out of my way, every chance I get, to encourage as many people as possible to also not ever spend THEIR money on an LG product. This is site number 2 for the day, I wonder how many more times I can tell this story before the weekend is over?If LG believes that not addressing this issue will save them money, I can assure you it will not. They will lose far more money from me alone than what it would cost them to make this right with me. Add to that lost revenue the amount of money they will lose with all the people I convince to not ever buy LG as well, and this will quickly become an expensive mistake many, many times over what it would take to fix it. If everyone else being screwed does the same, we can make a statement that LG simply will not be able to ignore. LG, the ball is in your court.

We bought LG 4.3 CF WM3370HWA and LG 7.4 CF DLEX3370W from Lowes in Everett, WA. This is a front loader washer. From day ONE this washer would not get clothes clean. It does not matter if you use the recommended detergent (my previous ten-year-old Kenmore used whatever you wanted to put in it, and got things sparkling clean), doesnt matter if you add bleach. It wont do a small load, and we are a retired couple so we dont have huge loads! It also wont wash a load of sheets - it balls them into tiny balls. If you try to wash a mixed load with a couple towels, you repeatedly get the UE (uneven load error). I constantly am standing on my head rearranging a sopping wet heavy bunch of clothing. I NEVER had this before with my top loader Kenmore! It also does not add the detergent in the first part of the wash - it doesnt add it til like 35 minutes into the wash. God help you if you add bleach, everything comes out smelling like none of the bleach is washed out. It makes a very loud chunking noise while filling, also. When you wash socks (and mind you, we are clean people who do not have pets, so its not like our floors make filthy socks)...the socks come out looking like they have not been washed at all - the knit on the bottoms are still depressed from walking...and the socks are not fluffed up at all!We called Lowes, and they said you have to call LG. So we called LG and they sent out a repair person. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. First words out of the guys mouth when he got there - I have twelve visits today and I cant stay past 30 minutes... Then he went over to the washer, pushed buttons on it a couple times, pronounced it fine, and started to leave. When we stopped him to ask questions, he got very defensive. We told him Its NOT fine, it wont clean the clothes! He said Well, it cleans them, just obviously not good enough for YOU. I showed him the dirt on the socks and he said Well, add more water! So I said Can you please at least stay through a cycle so you can see that it is NOT doing what it is supposed to do? He refused. After he left, we tried pushing the add more water button (which means none of the preset wash choices work...you have to do manual wash selection every time) and it still did not get the clothes clean. Also, yes, there is tons of crap that accumulates in the virtually uncleanable rubber gasket, and yes, we leave the door open 24/7. So far no smell, but I think that is because I use bleach so much and leave the door totally open.Now for the dryer. IT WONT DRY CLOTHES unless you put it on timed dry and high heat! And still, it balls everything into a ball! Our previous Kenmore never did this! And it also has one of those rubber gaskets on the door that fills with lint and you cant clean it out! We paid $2,089 for this piece of crap set and that is a lot of money for a retired couple on social security and a small retirement. I think I hate the LG people for selling an inferior product and not blinking an eye about it. I only wish I had seen this page of complaints BEFORE we bought this. PLEASE DONT BUY ANYTHING THAT USES SENSOR! Sensor does not work. Please dont buy a front loader LG. THEY DONT WORK. Now, the machine is 18 months old. And everything comes out smelling awful, especially towels and washcloths. I now have to buy another washer because I cant stand it any longer. My previous washer was a plain GE front load and it never gave me one problem. I sold it because it was old. I wish I had it back. We do not know where to complain about the irregularities in the services of LG company. In a separate incident, our electrician placed a tarp on the range to prevent anything falling on the cook top and again, an inadvertent touching ignited the tarp. While nobody was hurt this time and no permanent property damage, we refused to accept this. We were very pleased with our retailer, PC Richard, when they agreed to the return. We recommend that nobody accept the risk.

We got this washing machine just over 4 years ago. The door lock sticks now and I have to turn it off and back on 30 times before the door will unlock so I can get my clothes out. I don’t have time for that. And yesterday, I went to switch my clothes out and the door was locked of course so I just turned the whole machine off and went back to it today when I had time to mess with it. I still had to tap the frame of the door where the lock is about 3-4 times while turning it off and back on. Then when I finally was able to open it, my clothes were still soaked. So I put it on a spin only cycle. 17 min by default then after it judged the weight and distribution, it went to 10 min.I came back a few min later, the number of min was on 7 and it was full of water, rinsing. The spin light was flashing, indicating it was spinning and it was on a spin only cycle. We’re going to have to replace it as soon as we can afford to because they only guarantee their products for a year. I was told by the manufacturer that they’d have to charge me to have a maintenance guy from LG come to my house, evaluate the problem and fix it. Had I known they believed in their products this little, I’d have gone with a different brand. We will not be purchasing LG again.

So now I am stuck waiting for repair scheduling to contact me in a number of days. I need this microwave now! As far as I am concerned this company no longer exists. I am looking at having to purchase a new washer and kitchen range within the next little while and it will not be an LG. My husband works at a car manufacturer where hundreds of people work and we are going to make sure other employees are forewarned about this company. We certainly never expected to get less than a months use from an LG product.

I called to have it repaired. We kept using the stove, and before the repairman could get to us, the entire top died! You could push the buttons, they would come on but didnt heat up. The repairman came out, looked at the stove and said he had to order the parts. Two weeks later, he replaced the motherboard and everything was up and running just fine.Two months later, we had the same issue. The left burner goes this time. Again, the same repairman comes out, looks at the stove, he again orders the same parts. He replaces the motherboard again. On the 3rd repair, LG tells me the repair guy is the one who has to call it a lemon, the repair guy tells me its LG that has to call it a lemon. Okay, so he repaired it and I just let it go, WHICH I have NOT have done!Dec. 14, we call the repairman again, I am now on my 4th repair for the same thing! Now LG wants to see my receipt for the stove, and they are sending it to their Claims dept. to see if they can replace this stupid stove. I really hope they do NOT plan to send me another stove like this one! Last week, the repairman came out, of course they have to order the parts and I am just betting, my stove will NOT be repaired in time for me to cook the family Christmas dinner!It really sucks to spend all that money for a stove that only works part time! The repair guy said, he also see problems with stove that have fancy mother boards. If you buy this stove, make sure you have a backup plan! I am currently baking cookies on a small rack while sitting on coffee cups in a roaster pan and it SUCKS! Now, I guess I will have to cook Christmas dinner on a George foreman grill, a roaster pan, and an electric skillet or its fast food. Geez like a great dinner for Christmas, NOT!

I have had a horrible experience with LG and will never buy another LG product. About 8 months ago I bought as beautiful electric range with the purple/blue oven that self cleans at a low temperature. The stove is still working great but I noticed that the enamel in the oven is just flaking off and where the racks are the enamel failed and popped off.I called LG since the oven is still under warranty and was told that this defect is cosmetic and that I would have to pay for parts and labor to have it repaired. Enamel serves a function in an oven, it protects the metal from oxidizing and protects the oven from heat and food that would be absorbed without enamel. I explained to the agent that this is a functional defect and not cosmetic and got nowhere with LG. They just dont care about their customers at all. I am a manager for a call center and could not believe the response I received on this issue and the attitude of the agent. I was fuming after this experience and wrote an e-mail to corporate explaining what happened and explained that if I do not receive a reply within a reasonable amount of time I will escalate or take action in another manner.I never did get a response so I spoke with the manager of Home Depot and showed them pictures and explained the bad experience that I had. This the manager picked up the phone and called LG and Explained the issue and added that the popping porcelain is also a health issue and being a convection oven is getting blown around. She got the same crap from them that I did. Other employees came over to see what was going on as this manager was fuming and stating that they have never ever seen a situation like this before.The manager then said that we will take care of you and get you a new stove and again stated that this was ridiculous. The manager was still angry over the situation and told me that she is making some calls to pull other managers together Monday for a conference call to LG Dealer support and said that she is going the climb the corporate ladder on this one.I see a ton of lawsuits against LG and a huge number of complaints, it seems that they do not care or respond to their customers and end up in a lawsuit. I was contemplating on a lawsuit but came up with a better idea. I am going to work closely with Home Depot management and get data on whatever they need and work to have Depot drop all LG product lines. I think I have Home Depots attention on this and just have to follow the process. I have always had positive experiences with Home Depot and I dont want to see any more of their customers go through this experience and lack of accountability on LGs part. If everything is successful and LG products are pulled from Home Depot this will be a huge revenue loss for LG which is well deserved. This will hold them accountable for their actions and is far easier than a lawsuit and there is a ton of data on poor customer service and product support.

We bought a home with a new LG side-by-side refrigerator already installed. We have been in the house for 4 years and have had a service call on the refrigerator freezer at least 5 times. 1. The fan motor went bad, so the compressor shut down, causing food to defrost. 2. Water would not flow from the dispenser or to the ice maker. One of the solenoids was bad. 3. The ice cube tray that makes the ice was warped, so the water would overflow into the ice bin and freeze all the ice together. Apparently, the heater for the tray causes the tray to warp over time.4. The hose in the back that supplies water to the icemaker developed a leak and soaked our floors.This was repaired and it re-occurred multiple times. This issue is so common with LG that there is a procedure on YouTube on how to replace and repair the hose. I have owned refrigerators for 20 years with no problems. I believe LG definitely has a quality problem, so buy at your own risk.

Called Lowe’s, they told me to call LG, and they would schedule a service call. Well they set up one for 30 days from a lawnmower company? They came, said I had a loose wire, my fault, well before they got very far away dishwasher quit. Well to make a long story short, here it is August 18, and my dishwasher still does not work. LG keeps turning me over to AE service which I dont know who is more useless, every time they schedule someone I get a phone call within a few days of appointment from a service tech that either tells me I am too far away to service, or they no longer service LG due to not being paid, some say they cannot get parts, or get wrong parts. I have been told 3 times by LG service that I was being escalated to a buy back since I have had so many problems, but keep getting the run around. Today I was offered to buy an extended warranty, what a joke. At this rate it will be out of warranty before I ever see a repairman, she agreed, and said that’s a good reason to buy this extended repair warranty. If anyone wants to call me ** I am ready to get people together to contact the Better Business Bureau, if they have had the same issue, someone need to stand up for our consumer rights. I dont even have mine hooked up, gave 15 year old General Electric away, and never had a problem with it, brother in law loves it.

Wish I had found this website before I purchased this nightmare of a dishwasher (Model LDT7797ST) at Costco. Unfortunately I was out of town and did not run it before the 90 warranty period expired and now I am stuck with this lemon. The problem is, except for one option, it shuts itself off in the middle of most of its cycles (it has numerous options such as half load, energy level, dirtiness of dishes) and does not clean or drain. The dishes are soaking when the one cycle that seems to run completes. LG did send out two repairmen who both said the machine works (as the motor does work and it can drain when its not running in a cycle) but it doesnt. I have spent hours on the phone with Costco (I have called them six times) and LG (I have spoken with them six times) and have missed work to have repairmen tell me nothing is wrong with the dishwasher, and I spent $900 on the purchase of dishwasher. I am so traumatized by this experience, I have stopped using the dishwasher altogether. Save yourself and go with another company!

I feel that they need to do something immediately as we have waited long enough for the parts, and now, there are more issues.I would never buy appliances from a store that does not provide their own service contract as that seems to be what is causing such delays in this issue. Why pay good money for the machine and more good money for the service contract, only to be sitting and going on 3 weeks with no washer and no one contacting us to tell us what they are going to do about this issue? This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned, and I will never buy another LG product.

I contacted the warranty department and notified them of the problem. They sent a technician out and he deemed the washer unrepairable since it had been repaired for the same thing several times. I then contacted LG and told them that they needed to replace my washer or give me my money back. This washer is a lemon. They told me that I was out of warranty and that I had to deal with my extended warranty company. I told them that I already had and that since the problem was a pre-existing one, they would have to replace it.So after two months, I still dont have a washer that works and not only that, I have a wash room that has been damaged due to the leaks from the washer. My wood floor has begun to warp. I have done everything that LG has asked me to do and provided and they continue to give me the run around and blaming everyone but themselves.

I notified the service company and they ridiculously removed the felt--had to scrape glue from the unit. This took about three hours--the service person was outside in heat applying the new glue and the new felt to the drum. Keep in the mind that the entire unit needs to be taken apart to do this. When he was finished, he said that they could have ordered an entirely new drum and not have to remove and reapply the felt--but they chose to do it this way.Three months later, I noticed some markings on my clothing, sheets, blankets, and white clothing. The felt is coming out again and the noise has returned. We have contacted the service company who says that our warranty was just up about two months ago. They originally charged us approximately $300+ and now, they say that the drum needs to be replaced and it would cost about $600+.We want it replaced and the original cost be deducted, since the problem was a temporary fix. Now, they wont even return our calls. So I continue to put aside all the ruined clothing, blankets, etc. I will never ever give LG my business. I also own the frontload washer, which, by the way, smells all the time. I remember growing up and the washer and dryer lasted 15+ years. LG sucks!
