“Nothing outside of you has power over you. You decide how you think, feel and do things in your life. Take full ownership and become free.” — anon. One of the things I do daily in my day is reflection. 6pm PST I’m looking back through my planner, seeing the checkmarks over the tasks and going through the feeling of accomplishment. I wasn’t always like this, delaying and procrastinating much of what I had on the agenda. I can promise you, that mindset didn’t get me too far. What did help is creating a plan and holding myself accountable to do it. Knowing that I had my day outlined was key to keep me on task and target. As a high-performer, however, it can be easy to keep adding to the list and think there’s more and more to do. That’s where the big change can happen, when I started doing daily reflections. “Being a high-performer is also being able to remind yourself: I’m doing enough.”Here’s why: It’s important to reflect on all that you have accomplished in your day. It’s a time to allow yourself to see what you are doing, what is fulfilling in your day and what mini successes and victories you can celebrate. Because if it’s in your day, it’s worth celebrating if you’re accomplishing it! And, if you’re not celebrating it, that’s an opportunity to shift and change that the days moving forward. https://lnkd.in/gjb-QN9D

"𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐈 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫, '𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞, 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜!"These words often seem to question my work ethic. But I view it differently. Not everyone knows my life as intimately as my inner circle does, and that's okay. Yes, I'm always available for my clients and my team because that's just part of who I am and my role as an executive.𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜. Those who claim so don't really know me or my personal life. I became a mom at 23 and never stopped working on myself and my business plans. I've been fortunate to have great sparring partners, mentors and team members. I've experienced many ups and downs, learning to pivot my business when necessary. Over the years, I've mastered the art of juggling different worlds and setting the right priorities. It's like running: the first few rounds are tough, but with years of practice, you become a pro, and it gets easier.P.S.: Yes, I work on Sundays. Why not use the quiet time to get ahead? It frees up my week for my kids' skate and riding lessons time.Sending positive vibes for the week! 🤞

“You grow in proportion to the weight you take on voluntarily”This past year I have taken on school, playing Division 1 soccer, and running a business at the same time. Doing this has pushed me to develop my mindset and many skills. - Time managementWhen taking on multiple responsibilities I have learned that without time management comes stress. The smallest things like sticking to a schedule is what will set you free from stress. Building this habit is the most important part. It won’t be done overnight so you might as well start as soon as possible!- Valuing time with family and friendsHaving a lot on my plate has shown me how valuable time with friends and family is. I have always been told that you need to find work/life balance. I thought that meant having an equal amount of time for both. Through this busy time of the year I have learned that work/life balance actually means separate time. I have caught myself thinking about work when spending time with family and friends and creating an unbalanced lifestyle. My goal is continue to carve out time specifically for family where I can be present with them in 2024.- Celebrating the small winsIt is easy to get caught up in a long and never ending to do list and always looking for the next thing to get done. I have learned that taking the time to celebrate small wins is what keeps it all exciting and motivating. Reward yourself for hard work and find gratitude in your daily routine.

Today welcomes you.And you made it to the end of the work week. That alone is a victory.Don't worry about what didn't get done.Don't judge the progress you made. For real, let that go.You can journal about the week's lesson later.Right now, you can make the choice to get to work. The work you find meaningful. The work building you up.The work that helps others. The work contributing to your grand story.Add another link to the chain of consistency. It's another piece of evidence of your courage.Resist to make a deal with distraction. It'll only keep you away from your potential.Pass the testing of your commitment.Succeeding will fortify your mind.Stop waiting for inspiration to strike. You're one decision away to bring an idea to life.If you hesitate, you'll invite comfort. So grab your tools and strike with determination.Today, you make the choice to put in the reps.Today, you put aside your excuses.Today, you move in the direction you desire. Not tomorrow.Today.How will you respond?

"Ever feel like you're running on empty?" 🏃♂️Burnout doesn’t discriminate, but there’s an antidote: Celebrate achievements. 🎉 It’s not about just grinding away; it's about appreciating the journey. Reward those wins, however small. Then? Breathe. Take that deserved break, soak in the moment. When you return? Dive back with renewed vigor. It's not about relentless pressure; it’s about collaboration. It’s the shared excitement in tackling challenges, brainstorming with peers, and crafting solutions. That camaraderie? That's the fuel. The question often arises, "When is enough truly enough?" But perhaps it's less about the endpoint and more about the joy of the chase. It's the thrill of achieving together, of constantly learning and growing. So next time you're feeling spent, remember: Recognize your achievements, recharge, and revel in the journey with your team. And together? Conquer those goals. 🌟

Sometimes, when it's your busiest time, the best thing to do is slow down.I know it sounds counterintuitive, but sometimes we get so busy that we end up feeling paralized. We can't make good decisions, we start forgetting meetings, tasks, you name it.One way to slow down when it gets crazy is to remember your wins. All you need to do is take 2 minutes, write down everything you've accomplished on a given day and soak it in. Not only will you be able to breathe more, but also you'll feel more motivated to keep going. It's a win-win 😎 What wins would you put on your list today?#dailywins #smallwins #celebrateyourwins #growthmindsetcoach https://lnkd.in/dqb-if-J

Comments below from Dave are spot on.Today’s generation of earthmovers are to hell bent on getting onto that next machine before they actually get professional in the machine they’re on, fast tracking training is a contributor to industry incidents, also you see young supervisors who are now giving directions to solid operators on equipment that they don’t fully understand their capabilities or not using the machine to its full potential,When the old grump dozer operator speaks good advice is to listen, ask questions apply the techniques they share with you Mining and earthmoving is not a job it’s a career, it’s an art.
